Le chemin de halage, le long du canal de la Marne au Rhin est également un lieu fort agréable pour les balades.
Le canal de la Marne au Rhin, long de 312 kms, fut construit entre 1838 et 1853 et va de Vitry le François à Strasbourg.
L'écluse 67, à Ponthion, est maintenant automatisée.
The towpath, along the Canal from the Marne to the Rhine is also a very pleasant place for walks or cycling.
The 312 kilometre long Canal from the Marne to the Rhine, was built between 1838 and 1853 and runs from Vitry le François to Strasbourg. The lock nr 67 in Ponthion is now automatic.
Le circuit touristique du Perthois Champenois / Sightseeing in Perthois Champenois
En raison de son histoire et sa situation géographique Ponthion est intégré dans le circuit touristique du Perthois Champenois. Un panneau se trouve sur le mur extérieur du cimetière, près de l'église.
Owing to its historical past and its geographical location Ponthion is part of "Sightseeing in Perthois Champenois". A sign can be found on the exterior wall of the churchyard.
La pêche / Fishing
Ponthion est également un lieu privilégié pour ceux qui aiment s'adonner aux joies de la pêche, que ce soit depuis les berges du canal ou le long de la Saulx.
Ponthion is also a perfect place for anybody who indulges in fishing either from the banks of the Canal or along the Saulx River.
